5 Suspended For Ragging In Dental School | Indore Information

Indore: Five students including two first year class representatives were suspended for 15 days from classes on charges of ragging a girl student in Government Autonomous College of Dentistry, Indore.
The accused seniors issued instructions to first year students to boycott the girl, who is a day scholar. The girl lodged a formal complaint in a matter with the anti-ragging committee of the college.
The anti-ragging committee immediately swung into action recording statements of accused students and class representatives in relation to the case after preliminary enquiry.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, the committee suspended Anil Dhakad, BDS final year, Anjali Asati, BDS third year, Shivam Pratap Singh, BDS second year, Lokesh Sharma, BDS first year, Ashmi Sharma, BDS first year from classes for 15 days.
GCD Principal Dr Deshraj Jain told TOI, “The first-year girl student lodged a formal complaint against her seniors for instructing her batchmates to boycott her.”
“A committee was formed, and the complaint was investigated on August 1. The committee based on recordings provided by a girl class representative found the complaint preliminary true”, said Dr Jain. “The committee then decided to suspend the seniors. The two first year class representatives, who are suspended, had hidden information on being asked by the committee”, said Dr Jain.
Meanwhile, Sanyogitaganj police has written a letter to MGMMC authorities with a list of ten MBBS first year students for recording their statements. The police issued a letter after identifying possible victim suspects in relation to a ragging complaint case.
